“Knowledge is not powerful until it is applied.”
One of the most powerful tools, and the least complicated to apply are the Arts when it comes to learning any Subject matter. This is also one of the major reasons the Arts are of such value. Well, the Arts should be viewed as of value in academics, as well as, useful when preparing our children for society from within the home.
It’s understood why many may not have such an appreciation for the Arts due to their uncomfortable experiences perhaps created from bad teachers of it. However, at the very foundation of the Arts it’s about the “Freedom to Express,” one’s self without judgement as to what is right, or dictated as wrong. Because, the Arts are never truly about right, or wrong accordingly to a bunch of standardized rules at the Core.
Although, greatly depending on the society of which we live how much of traditional knowledge and academic studies a person knows and applies can also dictate the amount of skills conveyed within their Artistic field placing them within an area of novice, intermediate or advanced.
The true reason for this blog is to share and expose resources that parents (guardians), and teachers can explore that will encourage the child to learn while assisting on ways to help the child master any subject matter using the Arts to do so. A lot of engaging fun to be had. But, “Knowledge is not powerful until it is applied.”
The following list provided by professional educator, Jasmine Dyoco located in Cary NC. Jasmine so kindly reached out to us and asked if we would share the list on our FSK Website blog. We do appreciate her humanitarian thoughtfulness and share of knowledge and resources within the area of curriculum and child development. If you’d like to discover more about her, and her services please see contact information listed at the bottom of this article.
According to Jasmine Dyoco, “The way I see it, teachers face two major battles: getting students excited about curriculum while they’re in the classroom, and keeping the momentum going after the final bell rings. If children develop a love of learning, homework doesn’t have to be the enemy! However, it’s much easier said than done to make studying an activity that students look forward to. I decided to do a little research to help educators find ways to better reach their students and found some great resources I wanted to share. “
