The Story of Mz. Fall.

The Story of Mz. FALL. Mz. Fall. @Reserved by, #katievFlowers Original Artwork: Created using Acrylic paints & one large leaf from nature on approx. 30 x 32 inches Foam Board. Unframed. I was awaken by eerie silence. Where were the annoying joyful chirping songs from the birds which set outside of my bedroom window every morning just as the sun arisen with it's blazing array of glory? I asked myself, Was I yet still asleep? As I set up on the edge of my bed, I thought, this is ridiculous. I must be awake. Say "hello," to yourself. I said, "hello." I heard that. The silence. Where's the sounds from the people getting in and out of their cars starting their day? The yapping from the neighbors dog. The Sun seem to have shinned brighter than normal as it's rays slightly blinded my vision peering through the small and narrow slits in the window shades. I slowly stood up onto my feet and grabbed my cozy robe which I keep at the foot of my bed. I was ready to have my first cup of Joe. My toes felt a bit cold so I put on a pair of white cotton socks to help warm them up. The silence was uncanny, but yet welcoming at the same time. All I could hear as I prepared to walk towards the kitchen to make coffee was the motion of my own movement. On my way out of my bedroom I looked to see what time the small black digital clock which set on top of the TV stand said, and noticed that it read 7:45 am. Had I been sitting here for nearly 45 minutes thinking about the quiet in Silence. Really? As I was making my way into the kitchen I looked out beyond my balcony and noticed through the glass doors that the tree leaves gave off no movement. All was yet so still and stoic. I continued on into the kitchen and made the coffee as my silent guest followed me into the bathroom where I washed up and prepared my mind for the morning. The coffee smelled so strong and so good. My Joe was ready for me. The weather had been very nice leaving August and going into September. So nice that I forget Autumn was actually here. I decided to take Joe out onto the balcony, That is where I do a lot of my daily short meditation. The air was faint, but cool and brisk as it met me at the door. I reached for the chair nearest me and positioned it partly in the rays of the sun for some added heat. Where are those annoying birds that built their homes along the edges of my apartment roof? Not one bird flying. I looked ahead towards a nearby but distant busy street and could see the traveling cars which gave me hope that I wasn't in a Twilight Zone. For now people are still driving cars which means I was among the living. The trees looked nearly lifeless. The rich green hue of their leaves are now saturated with muted colors. Leaves floating from the tree limbs onto the hard concrete of the grounds and street pavement. leaving the trees looking mangled and naked. I wrapped myself a bit more tightly in my robe because the mild breeze from the wind showed itself as an opportunist entering upon my body through any vent accessible. Then it dawned upon me that what I witnessed was, FALL. The Story of Mz. Fall. @Reserved by, #katievFlowers Artwork: Mz. Fall. @Reserved by, #katievFlowers #Artist #Art #Blogger
