Today's Human Condition From An Artist Perspective.
What the Majority Do Not Grasp & the Minority Will Not Recognize
Is the
Karma of Human Condition

The Kingdom of Heaven is at hand. “I am come that they might have it more abundantly.” The Holy Bible. The King James Version.
“You business men and women are needing to know that if you but cast your net on the right side, you will catch great draughts of success in our endeavors. You need to use your house of business aright to have the abundance so great that you will have to call others to come and help draw the net to gather the rich return…. Man trying to hide from his own consciousness of himself. And ever since that time our Father God has been trying to make us aware of the unreality of fear and to lead us to discover our oneness with Him. “God is Love. There is no fear in love; but perfect love casteth out fear, because fear hath torment.” ~ The Secret of The Ages
Are you tired of hearing this truism? In order for change to happen it often starts with our individual self. The majority of us don’t own up to our innate negative thoughts and learned behaviors. We’d rather play victim, or ignore them. Some of us might say that we don’t care about what other people think. In some aspect we shouldn’t. Then again on the flip side of the same coin, we should. We don’t seem to understand how our own negative thoughts and behaviors help to form our world. Personally, I have decided to take responsibility of my own actions, and thoughts. I’ve decided to question many of them, and ask of them, where did they come from? The reason I decided to start questioning my thoughts and actions is because I have come to recognize and realize the impact of them on self, and the world. No one should ever accept it as fact that they do not add, nor have value in this world. If you’ve ever noticed nature has a way of removing from it what no longer produces, and, or has done its bidding in the physical realm. We as human see this as death. But, in the spiritual realm all that exist is of energy. Energy never dies, it merely transforms. Therefore as long as you are amongst the living you hold value in its physical realm. You will continue to be of value because you are a part of undying energy.
Do you know the difference between innate behaviors and learned behaviors? The following paragraph contains a mixture of innate thoughts, innate behaviors and learned behaviors. We all have some good ones too, thank God. I’ve heard it said that people are born into the world having, certain core beliefs. This is considered innate beliefs, and behaviors because we entered into the world with them. Then there are other emotional thoughts and beliefs that are created over time as we live and grow, and these are considered to be learned behaviors. Anger, jealousy, hatred, and selfishness, are innate thoughts that we are all born with. It is our environment that teaches us the label for such emotions and how to deal with them. We tend to mimic what we see others do and especially those of our parent/guardians. For instance rudeness is usually a learned behavior. I was taught that when I walk into a room to speak, say hello. What this does along the way is teach the child to show respect of acknowledgment for another human being. Who doesn’t like to be acknowledged? This is part of treating others the way in which we ourselves would like to be treated. It’s a small action with great social rewards. The positive thing here is that anything learned can be unlearned, or deprogrammed regardless as to rather we believe we were born with the attribute, or not. But it takes courage to see and recognize our flaws along with a desire to want to change them.
Have you ever said, felt, thought, heard, or do any of these? “I was raised this way.” “This is just the way I am.” “This is the way we’ve always done it.” Are you afraid of change? Avoid challenges? Accept things as they are although you know a change is needed but believe there is nothing that can be done? Secretly within yourself hold contempt and malice for another person, or group of people because you grew up in a household where for no other reason this type of bias was accepted, tolerated and welcomed? Feel superior, not realizing that superiority is all in the mind of the person(s) who believe that they are? Believe that you don’t have anything to offer into the world? Believe because you have been told that there is nothing special about you? Do you listen to and believe what other sources say, the media relates, and movies amplifies about a person, or a group of people? Feel insecure, and not enough? Lack of faith in Self, and in God? No faith, or belief in God? Harbor jealousy, hatred, grudges of the past? Have the attitude of, I’m too old to change? Judge a person before knowing them just because of what you’ve heard about them from others in your immediate circle? Have you ever thought, why are they being blessed? They don’t pay Tithes! They don’t go to church. They don’t have the degree of education that I have. They don’t give nothing to nobody. But, I have and I do it all. So where is my blessings and good luck? Those people are going to hell because of their life-style. But, I won’t be going to hell because I don’t do this, or that. I’m nearly perfect. They’re just some of the things we think, say, feel, hear, believe and do at moments within our life time, if not on a daily bases. These kinds of thoughts, and verbalizations create the elephant in the room, so-to-speak that aides in sustaining unwarranted social friction and maintain our karma of the human condition.
One of the biggest reasons for our human condition is that we’ve been taught how, and who to hate and why we should hate them. As adults the majority of us never examine, or re-examine our core values. We perhaps don’t realize that how we thought and felt 2, 4, 5, even 10 or more years ago isn’t really how we think and feel today about ourselves, others and the world. It seems as if we never question our own beliefs. It seems as if we don’t question the pastor, the parent/guardian, nor the media we just take it all in. So, we continue walking through life as programmed not realizing the impact and the effects of such negligence. Do we realize that our thinking, and what we say, what we do and don’t do help create the system of things directly, and in-directly? You’ve heard it said, “Not making a decision is the same as making a decision?” We can continue to ignore, point fingers and play victim. Or, we can begin to realize our own value, and recognize how powerful we really are as a human-being. Will the majority ever awaken to the understanding that we help to create the human condition? Not the president. Not the white man, green man, black man, or woman. It is the power of the awakening of the masses that help create the karma of the human condition.
We can’t control all of the thoughts we have daily, but we can choose our thoughts. We can search ourselves and question life as we seek to discover our own truth and not the truth that is merely handed down to us, or fed to us. The first challenge is having the willingness to face our thoughts. Then, have the willingness to defy that which we know is our negative shortcoming and holds us in the valley of negativity, doubt and in the swamp land of misery. It takes work and courage to see who we really are, and to admit our flaws, and shortcomings. But, just like charity, change starts at home. If we keep doing the same thing we will keep getting the same results. If we don’t like the world’s garden then we as individuals must be on the watch for what we ourselves plant into it.
The major concern with thinking and BEing is, “The world is a looking glass, and gives back to every man and woman the reflection of his/her own thought.”
It’s like deciding not to be on a diet, but seeing the efforts as a change of life-style. When we sincerely want to see change happen in our life and in the world we will take serious note. Sooner, or later (hopefully sooner) we will start to recognize that what we do and don’t do does have an affect not only on us (good or bad), but on our family and all who exist in world. The reality is that we exist in this world together as a very large tree that has many branches, and one day we are awaken to the self-discovery that we are a part of the roots and the branches that make up this incredible large tree.
We all have shortcomings, but the problem arrive when we can’t seem to get beyond the faults of our own, and of others. When we play victim to our circumstances we continue to lose out on what truly could be a more productive life. When we as individuals begin to understand the urgent need to stop holding grudges and begin to implement the best choice and willingly take the stand toward becoming a more productive citizen, becoming the best person we know how, and stop sitting back trying to avoid getting involved due to mostly fear, the change we want to see in the world will become a reality.
What the majority do not grasp and the minority will not recognize is that in order to receive our success, have a peace of mind, and live in unity we all as individuals must strive for it. We have to desire and create a willingness to change when and where needed. Stop taking everything the pastor says, or the government says, or the media says, or anyone else says as truth and start to examine our own core beliefs.
There is a need to observe our thinking and core beliefs. We need to start questioning ourselves every now and then with how we see ourselves being in the world? Why we see ourselves and others in the world as we do? We may need to examine closely and question what we see, hear and feel. We need to examine and research the world for our own discovery of truth. The reality is we are responsible for our own asses. When we reach a milestone that we have set for ourselves no one reaps the rewards of that achievement but the one who had set it for themselves. If you commit a crime and have to serve time for it no one else is serving time for that crime but you. Law will never hear the reason, or excuse of, “Well, I grew up this way.” Or, “That’s just the way I am.” Or, “Everyone else is doing it.” Blah, blah, blah. No. The point here is that regardless as to the why, and where you got your thinking and beliefs you are the one who reaps of them. Not to mention how your own thinking and actions affect others, such as your immediate family.
Trust that wisdom will intertwine with truth. In so doing we just might discover that we all have more commonality than not. For the majority of us it will take courage and daily work to become that person who we believe we truly are and want to become. It takes courage to be that person who we desire to be known as to others. If you believe that you are not worthy of love, that you have no value; nor, that no one wants your love or what you have to offer then this becomes your truth and reality. This is the world you create for yourself, but this isn’t how the world truly is. If you believe that you can’t do a thing then most likely you won’t. Understand and recognize that the only thing we live and die with is our reputation and that it takes wisdom, courage, truth, and persistence to create our legacy. We contain our own fate. Know from this day forward that what you say, and what you think and what you do helps to create the world you awake to everyday. That alone give us a lot of power and influence.
When I was a younger woman I wanted so badly to get into my dream school, The Art Institute of Chicago (SAIC). I wanted it ever so badly, but I didn’t know how it would happen. Someone close to me during this time said, “If you want it badly enough Katie then start acting like it. Start seeking people out. Start looking and acting the part.” One day after work I went into the “Loop” (downtown Chicago), and purchased an 18x20inches artist portfolio brief case. I’ve always drawn rather largely. I put my artwork into the case and carried it around faithfully. Some people would ask me, “What is that?” Others, would ask me, “Do you know what you’re carrying?” I was always prepared to show them my finished works, and I sold more than a few too.
I began to make some cold calls and eventually connected with Head of The Harold Washington Library Arts & Culture Department. I appreciate Mr. P.Turner today because he gave me some of his time. He mentored me and eventually wrote the letter I needed to enroll into the school of my dreams. Then there was that brief case of which I had carried around with me nearly everywhere I went. I may have looked crazy to other people but I felt like an arts student. I was calling things that were not yet as though they already existed. At that moment I was unknowingly taking responsibility for what I wanted to be. I allowed someone who I yet really didn’t know personally to help me create my success. I didn’t recognize it at the time but I was creating a part of my fate. I received my B.F.A degree from SAIC. Today I’m a proud professional practicing artist who also promote other artists.
Sometimes we have to fake it till we make it. This isn’t about being phony. No one can act the part of something that they don’t have in them already. If a person turns into a mean drunk most likely that is a part of them that is not revealed to many, but is a true part of their nature anyway. What you are doing when you act a part of yourself that you want to become is asking, seeking and working out your faith that one day you will walk in the fruition of your most desired. Faith without works is dead. It’s important to dress the part, speak the part, walk the part BE that of which you want to become and so what to those who may laugh. So what, to those who may try and demean you. Most likely if you take a good look at their lives you might be more thankful for your own as it is. No one perfect exist. Let no one ever tell you, and don’t you believe that you do not deserve the best, nor that you are not worthy of life, or that you have nothing to offer. When life no longer needs our assistance it has a way of removing us from its physical realm referred to as death.
We exist in the moment where it is time to take courage to make our own individual changes, from our thought patterns to our actions. It is time to reflect, forgive, and seek out resolve. The time has come for all of us to stop pointing fingers and recognize our contribution, or lack of.
“The world is a looking glass, and gives back to every man the reflection of his own thought.” Anything we do that is for the good of all has the support of the Universal mind when we ask for it.” “It is an absolutely necessary for every man to believe in him/herself. All of us have something to sell. It may be our goods, it may be our abilities, and it may be our services. You have to believe in yourself to make your buyer take stock in you at par and accrued interest. You have to awake with determination in order to go to bed with satisfaction.”
Putting company growth at stake due to discrimination is one of America’s biggest downfalls in regards to poverty, peace and perceived unity. Money is the recognized medium of exchange of value received, which there is no evil in this, however through-out America’s history money is what we use to place a value on labor, services, products, etc. What the minority who owns the majority of monetary substance doesn’t seem to grasp, nor have shown interest in recognizing is that to offer a person less than what they’re labor, services, product, goods, etc., deserve is as a slap in the face. It’s insulting on top of degrading. The majority of the minority begin to see this as another form of slavery. Just another method to maintain control. Another way of keeping the morale down. A manageable society cannot and will not be formed, nor contained, nor will it continue to keep in this manner. The meagerly payment speaks volume that says, “I don’t value you enough, perhaps not at all. And you are required to deal and cope with this scenario.”
An intellect I recently met stated, “…that bias exists in all flavors in the world, pro and con. Where we all can make a difference, is to do our best to see through our own personal biases, and promote a diverse world where each one of us is judged based solely on our aptitude, ability, manners, integrity, ethics, morality, creativity, effort, motivation, personality, etc. ~ and not on our God given appearance.” And, might I add that people are paid accordingly.
It is time for all to elevate our minds and hearts above the history of slavery which is something that cannot be changed. It is of our history. No one here is saying forget that slavery happened. God forbid for this is not a chapter to be repeated. But, to continue to re-live the past isn’t helping our present and it certainly does not help to promote a better future. What is the resolve for today’s social complexities? I believe resolve starts within our own homes, our own hearts, sprit and soul. Good and bad can be found in every race within every individual. The majority do not grasp and the minority will not recognize is that we help create and define our human conditions. It is our individual responsibility to cultivate needed change for the continued wellness for Self, and for Others. Our children will reap what we sow now. We can continue to re-live and rehash our past. All this does is compile the existing messiness and divert our attention from what needs to occur today that will address the problem issues that started in our past and help discover resolve for our woes today. In order to create a better future for our future generation. Entertaining our negative thoughts and behaviors. Pointing fingers, and remaining victims who are afraid of change and challenges isn't working for the good of any of us today, and never has. Or, we can decide to work on ourselves and be a part in the change we need.
